Starting 2007 in Kelowna and being stuck on the Trans-Canada Highways for 2 days!

We decided to cnacel our return flights and drive back to Calgary with Rick and Hollie.. thats when the trouble started.. to begin with nobody thought to cehck the weather reports so needless to say the minute we hit Sicamous (100km out of Kelowna) we got stuck in the snow storm, the highways were closed due to avalanches and slippery road conditions. The roads were beautiful, like being lost in a christmas card.

It was Hollie's 21st birthday the next day and we were going to be stuck in a hotel rool in Sicamous.. we made the most of it anyways!!

The next day we left Sicamous and drove until 8km before Golden when the traffic stopped completely, we were standing in the snow and cold for 2 hours. We passed time by chatting with a cool trucker lady!! she even let Smriti and Hollie use her "port-a-pottie" in her huge truck! Thanks Linda! After a nice lunch at a diner in GOlden we set out again and 6 hours later were in Calgary!

This Trucker was standing in front of OK pizza the day we left.. we caught up with him on the highway by Golden.. I guess one of us checked the weather before he left!
