2nd annual Cake walk in Calgary 2008

A few weeks ago, we went to see the 2nd annual Cake walk in Calgary, where local bakers make wonderful cakes which are exhibited for the general public.

It was held at the Carraige Inn in the SE, and had all kinds of activities etc. for kids, as well as entertainment and cake decorations. All for 5$, one would also get a huge slice of cake (which was quite delicious).

Here are some of the pics of these delicious pieces of art. Enjoy!t dont drool on your keyboard! :-)

The Academy awards in Kelowna

While I (Smriti) was in Kelowna, visiting mom, Rick and Hollie. Mom informed me that in Kelowna, one of the movie theater's (Paramount theaters), for 5$ shows the live TV version of the Academy awards. Mom decided to invite her friend Donna and me to go with her.

I have to say I was very pleasantly surprised at how well it was all organized. Donna, whom is in a wheelchair could go everywhere in the theater unhindered as it was very wheelchair friendly. THe theater gave out tonnes of prizes and had food, snacks and deserts catered from various businesses in town. The cookies were in the shape of the Oscar award, with cinnamon and ginger, and white vanilla icing. Very tasty.

The Oscars were so fun, I really enjoyed hanging out with mom and Donna. The whole shabang was 4 hours long, but the entertainment and food kept us busy and time went by quite pleasantly. I hope I can do this again sometime.

HAPPY NEW YEAR! WELCOME 2008!

Hello all!

Smriti and George would like to wish you all a Happy New Year. We hope all your wishes and dreams come true in the brand new year.

This past year has indeed been interesting for the both of us. Along with getting well settled in our new sourroundings, we have found like minded people to become friends with and have a fun time together. We have learnt the importance of relationships and true connections; and each of these experiences have helped us learn infintely about ourselves in return.

Calgary and the Rockies brings the promise of new adventures and activities alike and we hope to keep you updated on as many of these as possible.

Best Wishes all, do keep in touch and return here to visit with us :-)

Hugs and kisses
