Visit to Columbia Icefields

We decided to drive to Columbia Icefields, approximately 150km before Jasper National Park. We drove on friday all day, stopping in Banff, Lake Louise and at other sights to view glaciers and avalanches etc. The weather was great all throughout; and we stayed at the Columbia Icefields Chalet where the room was amazing with plenty of space and comforts, and a view of the glacier. The first day we walked on the closer Moraines, collecting rocks and looking for fossils (with no luck), the next day we took the bus ride, and eventually the icefield explorer bus up onto the glacier, the weather was clear and it was simply heavenly being up there. Here are some pics... On the way back we stopped at Peyton lake to take a few more pics and finally at Lake Louise to get lunch and changer drivers.. Wonderful trip overall....
