phD Party

WOW what a party.. it was simply fantastic.. good friends, good food (best italian pizza from V.E.S.P.A) even great gelato... what a wonderful way to party for my phD.

This day couldnt have been possible without the help of so many friends, while Renata and Marloes shopped for party things, Uwe made coffee and tea, Kinga and Dan helped with table decorations, Zerina and Gunnel made flower arrangements and George brought the pizza and ran around doing thousands of errands during the day, dad took tonnes of pictures, and Marloes and Per even did the dishes and helped clean up at the end of the day. Thanks so much guys.. you are great!! Here are some pictures from the party.

Smriti's Thesis "Spikning"

According to Swedish tradition Smriti's thesis was nailed to the pathology wall on an elm "Alm" board today.

As you can see she had problems with the hammer and nail, friends and colleagues came to witness the nailing ceremony.

The thesis now hangs outside the pathology department of Lund University, feel free to swing by and look at it.

Two cool girls I met in Muenster!

Jeannine and Sandra this blog is for you!!

It was so fantastic to hangout with you girls in Muenster, to explore the botanical gardens and to learn all about cool plants with with strange shapes, smells and lifecycles.

The witch house was great, still cannot believe it was built in 1830! WOW

Thanks especially for the "Ueberachung", and all the little toys...

Sandra, thanks especially for sharing your passion and knowledge on thylacoids (do I spell it right?)

See you soon...

House sold.. thesis printed...and we have moved to Lund!!

Its amazing how quickly things just lined up one after the other. We spent all of the weeks before easter cleaning and packing,

the movers packed everything into a big truck and drove away. We then cleaned the house spic and span and moved to the little apartment in Lund,

and a few days leter Smriti's thesis came back from the printers. So now we are all set, to finish the defence, have a party, graduate, travel around Europe with mom and dad, and then finally move to Canada.
